8 February 2011 - Cobie Smulders Cast As Agent Maria Hill
Cobie Smulders, cast mate of Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother, is in talks to play Agent Maria Hill in the Avengers. Several actors, including Morena Baccarin were up for the role, but Cobie, who Joss Whedon had in mind for his Wonder Woman project, has won the role. The Avengers will begin filming in April for a 2012 release.
