Hot on the heels of his successful stint hosting the Tony Awards, it has been announced that Neil Patrick Harris will host the 61st Annual Emmy Awards which are due to be aired on CBS on 20th September 2009.

1 July 2009: Batman: The Brave and The Bold

Neil Patrick Harris has been cast in Cartoon Network's Batman: The Brave and the Bold musical episode Mayhem of the Music Meister. Neil will voice former band-camp nerd meglomaniac, The Music Meister. The character is a combination of various DC Comics Characters and "has the power to create song wherever he goes, and he's trying to dominate the world." The episode will first be aired at the The Brave and The Bold panel at Comic-Con.

17 June 2009: Two New Movies

Neil Patrick Harris has been cast in two movies, and indie comedy and a modern-day version of Beauty and the Beast.

The Best and the Brightest is an indie comedy about a couple who move to New York and become involved in the world of private kindergartens. Neil will play the husband and has started shooting recently in Philadelphia.

Beastly is a modern-day update of Beauty and the Beast, Neil will play a blind man who teaches 'The Beast' the ways of the world. Beastly is currently in pre-production in Vancouver.
